State/Territory VOAD membership is an act of cooperation that provides your organization with communication tools to collaborate with other State/Territory VOAD members on disaster relief coordination. State/Territory VOAD membership will change the way you are able to serve communities in need.

State/Territory VOADs offer members a wide array of resources and educational opportunities for organizations, and volunteers.
Committees/Task Forces
Members and Partners gather around topical issues and programmatic activities to improve the delivery of services throughout the disaster cycle, and to further create a climate for cooperation.
Incident Response and Recovery Coordination
In support of our member?s work to respond to a disaster or help a community recover, we help coordinate and facilitate communication and actions among member organizations, emergency management agencies and other organizations.
Peer to Peer Networking
State/Territory VOADs offer their members numerous opportunities to share and discuss best practices and partner on common issues with COADs and regional VOADs.
Membership Categories and Dues
Member Agencies are coalitions or organizations that are regional, statewide, or local in scope and purpose, voluntary, and active in disasters.
EXAMPLE: American Red Cross – Minnesota and Dakotas Region
Associate Agencies are coalitions or organizations that are county, district, or municipally based in scope and purpose, and have a disaster response and recovery program and policy for commitment of resources to meet the needs of people without discrimination.
EXAMPLE: American Red Cross – Twin Cities Chapter
Partners are organizations, government agencies, or businesses with disaster planning and operations responsibilities or capabilities that do not meet all of the criteria for membership, but which have a disaster response and recovery program and policy for commitment of resources to meet the needs of people affected by disaster without discrimination. Partners may be, but are not required to be, statewide in scope and are strongly encouraged to make an annual donation equal to member dues.
