MnVOAD members reviewed the current status of recovery planning in Northeast Minnesota. The volunteer coordination subcommittee met at 8am. United Way 211, a local volunteer coordinator and other MnVOAD and City officials discussed plans to set up a system to coordinate volunteers and work orders. It is reported that so far 160 private homeowners have asked for assistance. It is very likely that number will increase. Moose Lake may have 150 homes affected. Willow River and Rutledge are unknown. Sheltering and meals continue to be provided to those who need it. The Red Cross also reports nursing and mental health contacts. A second planning meeting to set up the volunteer coordination system will be held on Wednesday.
