With all of the excitement of the MNVOAD Conference on March 24th, I failed to update the website after our last MNVOAD General Meeting at Red Cross on March 15th 2012.
At that meeting Bonnie Frazer became Immediate Past President, I became the current President, and Cheryl Vennerstrom from Headwaters Relief Organization became Vice President. Welcome to Cheryl in this position! Bonnie will continue to assist and Seth will continue to advise from Chicago!
Michelle Lakso and Garrett Alessandroni will continue as co-treasurers for now. Drew Hasty will continue as Secretary for now. However; both Michelle and Drew would be pleased if some other members would step forward to take on these positions if possible!
We spent most of the time at the meeting on the election, the conference, and some discussion about a few ongoing issues. We will have our next MNVOAD Board Meeting on April 20th 2012 at 9:30 a.m. at Red Cross in Minneapolis. We will establish the agenda for that meeting soon but one of the issues on the agenda will be the MNVOAD tree trimming assistance draft guidelines that we want to bring to AMEM and MEMA before storm season descends on us to help conform to some new ordinances being established in some jurisdictions that prohibit voluntary, unlicensed, assistance in this area.
Our next general meeting will be held on May 17th 2012, I hope to see as many of our members and official representatives in attendance there as possible!
